Privacy Policy for [https://encyclopaedia-spiritualis.com/index.php?title=Main_Page ENCYCLOPAEDIA SPIRITUALIS]

Last Updated: 12 October 2026

1. Introduction
Welcome to [https://encyclopaedia-spiritualis.com/index.php?title=Main_Page ENCYCLOPAEDIA SPIRITUALIS], a collaborative platform powered by MediaWiki. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you browse, create an account, or contribute to our wiki.

2. Public Contributions & Wiki History
By design, [https://encyclopaedia-spiritualis.com/index.php?title=Main_Page ENCYCLOPAEDIA SPIRITUALIS] is a public platform. Every contribution you make is public:
* **Edits and Content:** Any text, multimedia, or data you publish becomes part of a permanent public archive.
* **Attribution:** Public contributions are permanently attributed to your username (if logged in).
* **Data Persistence:** Because this is an open wiki tracking version history, standard requests to delete content or accounts do not automatically erase public edit histories, as doing so would compromise the transparency of the wiki ecosystem.

3. Information We Collect
We process data under two distinct categories:

A. Information You Explicitly Provide
* **Account Creation:** To create an account, you must provide a unique username and a password.
* **Optional Email Address:** If you opt to provide an email address, it is used for password recovery, system notifications, or enabling peer-to-peer wiki communications. Your email is kept confidential and is not visible to the public.

B. Information Collected Automatically
* **Log Data & IP Addresses:** When you browse our wiki, our web servers temporarily cache server logs containing your IP address, browser type, and page access timestamps to defend against malicious attacks or spam.
* **Cookies:** MediaWiki sets functional session cookies to keep you logged in and preserve your personal skin/editing configurations.

4. International Data Transfers & Global Compliance
Our users are located globally. If you reside in the European Union (GDPR) or California (CCPA):
* **Data Processing Location:** Your account data may be processed on servers located outside your home region.
* **Your Rights:** You have the right to request a download of the account data we store about you or request that your account be renamed/anonymized to strip personal indicators.
