Quote of Sri Aurobindo[1]

The term concentration is generally understood, and is used in academic disciplines such as psychology, education and neurology, to refer to the ability to focus one’s attention specifically on a particular subject or activity whilst filtering out distractions.

Difficulties with concentration have a debilitating effect on people, as they disrupt the inner order and focus of thought through distraction, inner restlessness, feeling overwhelmed and constant disruption, thereby making it difficult to engage in deep, purposeful and productive activity.

For this reason, the ability to concentrate is of great importance in many areas of life. It forms a vital foundation for coping with the demands of everyday life, consistently pursuing goals and performing effectively in both professional life and sport. By consciously focusing one’s attention, thoughts, energy and actions can be effectively directed towards what is essential.
